AIÉ«ÇéÍøվ’s Griffin named ACCC Player of the Week

Gadsden, Ala. —  The Alabama Community College Conference announced on Oct. 2 that the Player of the Week in cross country is Lane Griffin from AIÉ«ÇéÍøÕ¾.

Griffin finished 13^th out of 42 runners in the Mountainside Stride held Sept. 30 in Chattanooga. His 8K time was 27:56, which was a full minute improvement from the previous race on Sept. 15.

“Lane has a remarkable talent for distance running,” said Roseanne Green, AIÉ«ÇéÍøÕ¾’s cross country coach. “His talent combined with his dedication to the sport and leadership skills make him a natural team leader.”

Griffin, who graduated from Fort Payne High School, was AIÉ«ÇéÍøÕ¾’s No. 1 finisher in the Mountainside Stride. Ashton Vann, the College’s No. 2 finisher, came in 21^st with a 29:49 followed by Jonah Medders rounding out the Top 3 among AIÉ«ÇéÍøÕ¾ runners at 32^nd with a 33:02.
