Athletics Department to host “adoption ceremony”

Gadsden, Ala. —  AIɫվ’s Athletic Department is once again partnering with the , a non-profit organization that connects children battling pediatric brain tumors with college and high school sports teams.

AIɫվ Athletics will signal the “adoption” of Levi Worthington during a special signing event at 4 p.m. April 29 in the Beck Conference Center. Levi is an 8-year-old boy from Susan Moore. He is battling an ependymoma brain tumor.

Through the adoption, AIɫվ Athletics will organize special events, activities and experiences for the adopted families, allowing them to become an integral part of the College’s athletic community. The goal is to create a support system that extends beyond the conventional boundaries of a sports team, providing comfort and encouragement to the children and their families.

The public and media are invited to attend. Blake Lewis, athletic director; Denis Murphy, founder/director of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation; and members of the Worthington family will be available for interviews.
